描述: 本研究旨在探究外籍配偶子女在母親語言因素的影響下，智力、語文能力及學業成就之表現及相關情形；並驗證不同背景變項外籍配偶子女在智力、語文能力及學業成就的影響以及探討智力、語文能力及學業成就之關係，為達成上述之目的，首先，先以問卷調查的方式確定研究對象「外籍配偶子女」；再者，研究者親自至各校以社經地位及性別作為配對變項選定「本國籍配偶子女」進行配對，最後確定的研究對象包含外籍配偶子女及本國籍配偶子女共有100名。研究蒐集之資料經電腦SPSS統計套裝軟體處理之，所使用的統計方法包括描述性統計、獨立樣本平均數差異t考驗、積差相關及簡單迴歸分析。本研究發現:（1）外籍配偶子女與對照組兒童在智力、語文能力、上下學期各學習領域與整體學業成就表現上無顯著差異；只有一年級上學期綜合活動領域表現達顯著差異（P<.01），外籍配偶子女表現不如本國籍配偶子女；（2）就外籍配偶子女問卷調查背景變項與語言能力、智力表現及學業成就之差異探討結果，主要的顯著差異有，在下學期生活領域表現方面男生低於女生（p<.05），主要課業輔導者為父親之學童其表現高於主要課業輔導者為母親之學童（p<.05）；在綜合活動領域方面，下學期男生表現不如於女生（p<.05）、上學期時主要課業輔導者為父親之學童其表現高於主要課業輔導者為母親之學童（p<.05）；（3）以迴歸分析外籍配偶子女智力、語文能力及學業成就之關係。智力對上下學期數學領域（P<.05）及下學期語文能力（P<.01）具顯著水準的預測力；整體而言，各學習領域學業成就與下學期語文能力的相關程度比在上學期的相關程度愈高（P< .01），且上學期語文能力對下學期語文能力亦有顯著預測力（P< .001）。此研究結果與一般大眾認知外籍配偶子女的語言能力、智力表現及學業成就表現會不如一般兒童之認知事實不符。研究者綜合上述結論提出下列的建議，以作為教育單位對外籍配偶子女相關教育政策制訂的參考：（1）媒體應多報導正面成左滬荇蛂A避免落入將「外籍配偶子女」形塑為等同於「學習有問題」的概念；也可以作為其它人學習的楷模；（2）輔導的內涵及對象應擴及，社區人士、學校教育者、教育相關單位，更甚至於本國籍學童都需要予以輔導來學習與不同文化背景的人相處；（3）注重多元文化教育的課程設計與多元智慧教學評量方式，對於外籍配偶子女較多的地區應允適度增加其文化素材以反映社區文化的背景、評量方式也要多元化，應避免侷限於單一的方式，建議能以發掘學生的長處、能提供成長的空間為主要目的；（4）家庭教育應不只以外籍配偶為對象，學童的家人也需要鼓勵並形成家庭支援系統。另外，需考量母親文化背景或語言因素，學校在進行親師溝通時應以較多元的方式減少與外籍配偶的溝通障礙。
The main purpose of the present study was to compare intelligence, language ability and school achievements between children of immigrant mothers and children of native Taiwanese mothers. Also, this study surveyed background information of children of immigrant mothers and to explore variables for causing differences in their intelligence, language ability and school achievements. The methodology of this study combined survey research and causal comparative research methods. 50 pairs of matched subjects in SES level, gender, and geographical variables were selected to participate in the study. Instruments of measurement were Questionnaire of Background Information about children of immigrant mothers, Raven Colored Progressive Matrices, School Achievement Test Scores. Results indicated that there was no difference found between two compared groups in intelligence, language ability and in most subjects of school achievements. Children of immigrant mother did not perform as well as the compared group only in the subject areas of Life and General curriculum. The results of the present study challenged the misconception a lot of people hold that children of immigrant mothers was not as competent as their peers in intelligence, language ability and school achievements. The results of the present study did not support these assumptions. Finally, the analysis of variables influencing school achievements for children of immigrant mothers was of great value to educational policy decision makers and practitioners.
