  • Description: 本文以臺南府城東門城外東南邊角的歷史變遷與區域開發為研究主題，探討東門城外東南邊角一帶，在荷治、明鄭、清領、日治、戰後到現在的各個時期的發展與變遷。在研究方法上，主要以地圖判讀為基礎，搭配史料的收集與整理，輔以田野調查，以彌補文獻資料不足的部分。 研究區域在荷治時就靠近赤崁耕地；明鄭時期在竹篙厝地區有廟宇仁和宮上帝廟的興建，顯示有漢人聚落；清領時期，東門城外東南邊角地區除了靠近東門城附近的少許聚落，以及竹篙厝聚落外，其他多為農地或墓地，成為處處荒地的景象。 日治時期原本因軍事需求，在東門城外設立了練兵場，後來又改建成為農業試驗所，加上糖業試驗所的設置，使得東門城外東南邊角一帶變成了重要的農業研究地區。此外，設立了煉瓦工廠，吸引了打零工者的移入，而在此形成了小聚落，促進研究地區的發展。 戰後臺南市政府初期僅規畫了大同新村、大林新村等眷村，安置大量軍民，加上前期的煉瓦工廠引進的小聚落，早期人口集中在大同路與縱貫鐵路之間；後來陸續規畫仁和工業區，加上一連串的都市計畫，公共設施興建或遷移至此，使得東門城外東南邊角的竹篙厝一帶，建築密度增加、人口數量大幅上升，帶動了研究區域的商業發展。 民國80年代後，東門城外東南邊角一帶，人口成長速度漸緩，而隨著台糖公司的民營化與土地活絡政策下，區域內最後一塊農地也即將開發，期許將此地區變成為南臺南副都心，繼續在府城繁榮發展中占有一席之地。 東門城外東南邊角一帶的發展，至今已超過三百多年，從荒野之地變成今天的聚落密集、商業發達的現況，在政治、經濟、社會等因素交互影響下，改變了原有的歷史面貌，有別於城外其他三境。
    The purpose of this study aims at investigating the historical changes and the regional development at the Southeast Corner of the outside of East Gate in Tainan City. The period of the research is from Dutch Formosa, Ming and Chen Dynasty, Qing Dynasty, Japanese Colonization, after World War II, to the present. With regard to the research methods, the study is mainly based on the map reading. The researcher also collected and compiled the historical data, and did the field surveys so that the study can compensate for the insufficient part of the literature. During the time of Dutch Formosa, the area was near Chihkan farms. In the period of Ming and Chen Dynasty, because there was a temple, Renhe Temple, found in the village called Zhugaocuo, it just proves that Han people settled down here. In Qing Dynasty, except few settlements near the East Gate and Zhugaocuo, here were almost the agricultural lands or cemeteries, which were like wastelands. In the period of Japanese Colonization, due to the military needs, Japanese set up the military training ground in this area first; however, they not only converted it into an Agricultural Research Institute later, but set up a Sugar Research Institute, which made the place become an important agricultural research area. In addition, the establishment of a brick-making factory attracted many people searching for part-time jobs to immigrate here. Because of the above, a small settlement was formed, and it just promoted the development of the study area. After WWII, the Tainan City Government only built some military dependent villages, including Daton Village and Dalin Village, to take care of a large number of army-civilians in the primary stage. Plus the small settlement attracted by the brick-making factory, the people centralized between the Datong Road and the north-south railway. Afterward, with the planning of Renhe Industrial Zone and a series of urban planning, the infrastructure were constructed or moved here. It made the density of the building and population in Zhugaocuo increase and promoted the commercial development in the study area. After 80 years, the speed of the population growth rate slowed down gradually. With the privatization of Taiwan Sugar Corporation and the land-activating policy, the last piece of agricultural land in the area was exploited. The region was expected to be the secondary center of Southern Tainan, and continue to play an important part in the development of Tainan City. In summary, the development of the study area has been over three hundred years from the time of Dutch Formosa till now. Under the influences of the politics, economics and society, this area has become a populous and prosperous district. It not just transformed its original historical appearance, a place full of farms and graves, but differed from the other three regions which are at the outside of Tainan City.
