The purpose of this research is that the researcher wanted to get into her life experiences through the process of self-writing and to examine the meanings of self in a living world after practicing and experiencing the “love and responsibilities” from the point of the view of hermeneutic phenomenology. In this study, the researcher proceeded the studies in three stages: self-writing, data analysis, and thesis composing. After two months of self-writing, the researcher carried analyses and annotation out based on the paper data of self-writing. The conclusion of this study is as following:1. The “love” that Shu-Fen naturally had in her childhood was fused with responsibilities after she was endowed with “responsibilities” from other people.2. Because of love, Shu-Fen took on the responsibilities. However, taking on the responsibilities was considered as a matter of course to her; and therefore it brought haggles into her world, which was interlaced with love and responsibilities.3. Through the cure function of self-writing, Shu-Fen found self-help strategies such as stories of seeking for support, clarifying responsibilities, and eliminating complains to fuse love and responsibilities again.4. Other findings(1)Shu-Fen’s irrational belief - “the younger brother is her responsibility”: During the self-writing, Shu-Fen was able to deconstruct this belief. Although it took her seven months, her brother finally was able to go back to work. Now, she is trying to deconstruct this irrational belief to reconstruct her brother’s life. He will be responsible to himself.(2)The therapeutic effects of self-writing: Writing itself is a process of self-cure. Through writing, we are able to reexamine our past lives and rearrange them. We can also find that we already are cappable of giving positive thinkings on things by writing. According to the conclusion of the study, researcher can give advices to practical workers and references for further researches on parental education, women who become involved in the interlacing of love and responsibilities of original families, readers’ choices, and counseling education.
