This study was a survey of 1148 male and 1144 female sixth-grade students in public elementary schools in Tainan. The study used a one-hundred-one–item questionnaire which measures four distinct traits: self-concept, peer relationship, social interest, and life adjustment . The data were analyzed by using two-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and stepwise regression. However, non-only children were superior to only children.2. In peer relationship of sixth-grade students in elementary schools, only female child were superior to only male child, non-only female children were superior to non-only male children, and non-only male children were superior to only male child. But no significant difference was found in non-only female children and only female child.3. In social interest of sixth-grade students in elementary schools, only female child were superior to only male child, non-only female children were superior to non-only male children, and non-only male children were superior to only male child. But no significant difference was found in non-only female children and only female child.4. In life adjustment of sixth-grade students in elementary schools, only female child were superior to only male child, and non-only male children were superior to only male child. But no significant difference was found in non-only female and non-only male children, and non-only female children and only female child.5. Self-concept, peer relationship, and social interest of sixth-grade students in elementary schools had correlations with each other.6. Peer relationship, self-concept and only/non-only children could effectively predicted life adjustment of sixth-grade students in elementary schools, especially peer relationship.
