  • Description: 本研究的目的在探討讀者劇場對國中一年級參加學校攜手計畫課程之英語低成就學生英語閱讀流暢度與學習動機之實施成效。研究對象是台南市某國中11位英語低成就學生(8男3女)。實施課堂總共18堂課(共5週)。研究方法採用準實驗研究法之「單組前後測實驗設計」。但為更深入了解學生的學習情況,也輔以半結構式訪談作為研究之工具。因此,資料分析包括量化與質化研究。根據實驗結果,本研究之主要發現如下:一、讀者劇場教學能有效增進學生之英語閱讀流暢度。二、讀者劇場教學能顯著影響學生之英語學習動機 。三、學生因喜歡讀者劇場的上課方式,而樂於學習英語。本研究最後提出對於實際教學與未來研究之建議以及研究者個人之省思。
    The purpose of study was to explore the effect of Readers’ Theater on English reading fluency and English learning motivation of the 7th grade students with lower-academic achievement (8 boys and 3 girls). The whole reader’s theater program lasted 5 weeks. Based on the pre-and-post-test research design, this study collected data of students’ oral reading scores, questionnaire responses and interview remarks. Their oral reading performance was examined with the instrument, Entire Text Method. Students’ reading motivation and perceptions of the reader’s theater task were elicited by pre-and post-study questionnaires. T-test was used to detect if there were differences in students’ motivation before and after the sudy. Students’ interview remarks were classified to present a clear picture of students’ learning. The results of study were as follows:1. There was significant difference on English reading fluency test. Reader’s theater could improve students’ English reading fluency .2. There was significant difference on English learning motivation scale. Reader’s theater could improve students’ English learning motivation .3. Students showed positive learning attitudes on English and claimed that they’ve enjoyed more attitudes of the reader’s theater task.Based on the results, suggestions for Reader’s Theater teaching for students with lower-academic achievement in the junior high schools and further studies are also provided.
