  • 描述: 電腦中介溝通(Computer-Mediated Communication, CMC)具有傳統溝通媒介所缺乏的特質,互動性、非線性、非同步性及超越地域、時空限制是CMC優於其他媒介的主要特色。本研究希望在提升社會臨場感和媒介豐富度的前提下,在現有媒介中加入互動機制,並兼顧溝通效能,改善現有的CMC媒介,善用CMC的優勢,呈現多元資訊,探索網路新型態溝通媒介的可行性,提供未來設計溝通平台之參考。本研究以生命教育議題探討為協商行任務,以電子郵件、即時通訊及提升社會臨場感和媒介豐富度的CMC平台(Promote Rich Medium for CMC Platform,以下簡稱PRM CMC平台)為自變項,探討不同溝通媒介對媒介認知的影響。進一步探討每週上網時數對媒介認知的影響、輔助工具的使用對媒介認知的影響以及PRM CMC平台作為未來溝通媒介的可行性。研究結果發現,不同溝通媒介在媒介認知上有所差異,但未達到顯著水準。但在「社會臨場感」構面上,PRM CMC平台優於電子郵件,且達顯著水準。表示PRM CMC平台提升社會臨場感及媒介豐富度的機制是有作用的。而每週上網時數對PRM CMC平台的媒介認知有正相關且達顯著水準。輔助工具的使用對即時通訊組的媒介認知無顯著差異,但對PRM CMC平台的媒介認知、溝通效能有顯著差異。PRM CMC平台提供多元的功能讓使用者依據自身需求選擇溝通方式,參與實驗者大多肯定PRM CMC平台的社會臨場感及媒介豐富度,認為PRM CMC平台作為未來溝通媒介有其可行性,但應考量平台的穩定性;在功能選擇和平台的呈現上更加個人化、適性化。
    Computer-mediated communication, CMC, contains some attributes which cannot be found in conventional communication media. This kind of communication is superior to others because of its interactive, nonlinear, asynchronous, borderless and timeless features. This research intends to increase the social presence and media richness by leveraging an interactivity mechanism in current media. On the other hand, communication efficiency is also considered in order to improve current CMC media and to utilize its advantages to present diverse information. It also seeks the possibility of CMC to be a new type of communication on Internet as well as to be a reference for future communication platform design.The research treats the discussion of life education topics as negotiated task and electronics mails, instant messaging and CMC platform which improves social presence and media richness as independent variables(Promote Rich Medium for CMC Platform, PRM CMC Platform). It discusses the impact of different communication media on media perceptions. Thereafter it further discusses the impact from weekly consumed time on Internet and the use of complementary tools and seeks the possibility where PRM CMC Platform becomes a future communication medium.The result shows that various communication media result in difference on media perceptions but the difference is unremarkable. However on the layer of social presence, PRM CMC Platform is notably better than electronic mails. This also means the platform is helpful for improving social presence and media richness. In addition, weekly consumed time on Internet is positively and notably correlative to the media perception of PRM CMC Platform. The use of complementary tools makes no remarkable difference on the media perception for the group of instant messaging but it does cause significant impact on the media perception and communication efficiency of PRM CMC Platform.PRM CMC Platform provides users with diverse functions based on their personal needs while making selection among communication methods. Most participants in this research affirm the social presence and media richness out of PRM CMC Platform. They also conceive the possibility where the platform can be a prospective communication medium. Its stability, meanwhile, has to be taken into account. The selection and presence of the function and platform will be more personalized and adapted.
