描述:
根據各國市調研究報告顯示,未來的市場將一致看好微流體生物晶片產品之應用。如快速疾病檢測的研發應用,在現有競爭者產品功能和其它特性如價位、體積有缺點的情況下,改進這方面技術缺失與發展更優越性的產品,將是成為具國際競爭力公司的前提。基於上述的背景與動機,乃針對所選定之個案公司進行深入研究,主要目的在於:(1)蒐集生技產業主要發展國家的情資;(2)勾勒出微流體生醫晶片之產業生命週期與產業鏈;(3)分析研究個案之競爭優勢;以及(4)擬定研究個案之競爭策略。本研究為了深入了解生物晶片檢測目前的狀況,係利用不同的資料來源進行分析,以增強資料間彼此可信的緊密度。環境分析上的次級資料蒐集分別依據所國內、外相關研究、最新的網路資訊以及參訪個案公司提供的資料等。初級資料主要分為二部分,第一部分為問卷調查,對象主要為台灣生技公司之高階經理人、醫檢單位和學術界相關領域背景之教授等受填者,總計發放1,601份,回收之有效問卷為87份。第二部份為專家訪談所得到之資料,即透過兩階段訪談-先導式訪談和確認式訪談所彙整之資訊。專家主要以產業、學術等結構組成,總計共有13名專家參與先導式訪談,以及7位專家進行確認式訪談。最後透過多位訪談整理及問卷結果修正後,建立起研究個案公司的競爭優勢,並由優、劣勢和機會威脅各構面要素配對的方法來擬訂因應的策略選擇,即(1)將競爭優勢規模化,以建構競爭障礙;(2)充分利用既有資源與技術,並將之轉化為營運現金以支應塑造獨特力所需資金之來源(3)鎖定目標投入資源,以塑造競爭力以及(4)資源管理。綜合各區塊之競爭主策略後,本研究很清楚的將個案公司未來之期許為「啟動全民即時防疫引擎檢測科技之首選廠商」。
Biotechnology is considered a star industry by most nations in the world in the 21st century. The case company has an on-going project “Development of a Microfluidic Biochip System” which started in December, 2005. The success of the proposed project will create breakthrough-enabling technologies for fast bacteria detection by incorporating several crucial technologies from both biotechnology and advanced MEMS/Nano-engineering. Using only a small sample of bacteria or virus, a detection analysis, which usually requires a conventional bio-analytical lab, can be carried out on a small chip with minimum human intervention and less sample consumption. However, we appreciate that biotechnology companies often face particular business strategies and management problems across the world. Therefore, how to identify the business competitive advantage and strategy are the first issues we tackle. The aims of this study are to identify the business competitive advantage and find out the competitive strategy of the fast diseases diagnosis market.Taking the fast diseases diagnosis market as an example, a questionnaire was designed using important characteristics of the biotechnology industry, SWOT, and a business model. 1601 questionnaires were sent out to each CEO and marketing department head of the main biotechnology companies in Taiwan. 87 completed questionnaires were useful for data analysis. The research explores the profile of the global biotechnology industry status and development, and focuses on the competitive strategy that Taiwan should have to strengthen its dominant position in the world. It does this by studying the microfluidics biochip, analyzing the impact of applying biotechnology in Fast Diseases Diagnosis and the characteristics of the biotechnology industry, from the industry’s point of view. The research reveals several important points concerning competitive advantages and business model: 1. In part of the biochip systems development, the target should be product manufacture specific to electrical machinery and 8” FAB. This should create a better chance of developing excellent and inexpensive equipment in the IT industry of Taiwan. 2. In the disease diagnosis process, Taiwan industry has advantages in both quantity and quality of engineers and physicians involved in the work. 3. In the future, it is suggested that the development of Taiwan’s biology chip industry would be helped by a strategic alliance with an international biotechnology company, thus creating more market space.4. In developing microfluidic biochip systems, conformity with the domestic related industry, has more advantages to help the whole.
