本研究旨在瞭解嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師教學信念與教學效能現況及不同背景嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師在教學信念與教學效能的差異情形,探究其教學信念與教學效能之相關性,進一步分析教學信念對教學效能是否有預測力。本研究以嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師為研究對象,以「嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師教學信念與教學效能調查問卷」為研究工具,研究嘉義市101學年市內的所有學校社會領域地理教師24名,共計回收有效問卷24份,並輔以訪談兩位社會領域地理教師;調查所得資料以調查所得資料以SPSS for Windows 17.0 統計軟體進行資料統計分析,運用方法包括:描述性統計、t考驗、單因子變異數分析、皮爾遜積差相關及逐步多元迴歸分析,依據資料分析結果,獲得研究結論如下:一、嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師的教學信念呈現進步取向,以「課程與教材」層面程度最高。二、嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師具有高效能的教學效能,其中又「班級經營」層面效能較佳。三、嘉義市國中社會領域男性地理教師整體教學效能與班級經營層面,顯著高於女性地理教師。四、嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師教學信念愈高,其教學效能的程度也愈好。五、嘉義市國中社會領域地理教師教學信念能有效預測教學效能。最後,根據上述研究結論,提出建議以供教育行政機關、學校、國中社會領域地理教師以及未來研究之參考。
The purpose of this study was to investigate the teaching beliefs and teaching effectiveness of junior high school geography teachers in Chiayi City. In addition to differences across background variables and the relationship between teaching beliefs and teaching effectiveness, this study also examined the predicting power of teaching beliefs for teaching effectiveness.The research subjects were teachers instructing geography in the field of junior high school social studies in Chiayi City. The research instrument was “The Questionnaire on Teaching Beliefs and Teaching Effectiveness of Junior High School Geography Teachers in Chiayi City”. The questionnaire was administered to 24 geography teachers in Chiayi City during the academic year of 2012, and 24 valid responses were obtained. Besides, two of the geography teachers were also interviewed. All the collected data were analyzed on SPSS for Windows 17.0 using various methods, including descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple regression. The main findings were as follows:1. The geography teachers in Chiayi City showed gradual improvements in their teaching beliefs, particularly in the aspect of “curricula and teaching materials”.2. The geography teachers in Chiayi City had good teaching effectiveness, particularly better in the aspect of “class management”.3. Male geography teachers significantly outscored female ones on overall teaching effectiveness and class management.4. The geography teachers who showed higher teaching beliefs tended to have better teaching effectiveness.5. It was found among the geography teachers that teaching beliefs could effectively predict teaching effectiveness.Finally, based on research findings, this study proposed some suggestions to the authority concerned, schools, geography teachers, and future researchers.
