  • 描述: One of the major challenges for the elementary school EFL teachers is to meet the learning needs of students with diverse profi ciency levels in regular classrooms. One solution to the long standing problem is to adopt differentiated instruction with students who have varying levels of readiness. However, some myths and misconceptions emerged after years of practices in differentiated instruction. By discussing concepts and misconceptions with exemplar activities, this paper attempts to call attention to a number of important issues in the integration of differentiated instruction in the elementary school EFL classrooms. It also addresses five myths about the principles and practices of differentiation, which illustrate how hasty interpretations may lead to mis-implementation of differentiated instruction in elementary school EFL classrooms
