Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), schools at all levels switched to distance learning to reduce interpersonal contact and avoid group infections. During this period, besides delivering courses online, the teacher educators could consider adopting virtual reality simulation as a method for training teaching and classroom management skills. This article aims to introduce the current situation of using virtual reality simulation as a teacher training tool. First, the article introduced three kinds of virtual reality software (virtual reality desktop, mixed reality, and immersive 3D virtual environment) which were used by many researchers as tools for training pointed out teaching and classroom management skills. Then based on the results of relevant research, the article pointed out that the virtual reality as a training tool for teacher training can not only exert the training effect of teaching and classroom management skills, but also has the advantages of providing customized training, a
